Stay In Vashon Castle – Washington
Essential Planning Tips
Ferry travel to Vashon is reliable but can get lively, especially during commute hours (5–9 a.m. and 3–7 p.m. weekdays) when islanders head to Seattle jobs. Expect longer wait times and occasional delays from weather, maintenance, or high demand ferries can run 15–30 minutes behind.
Plan ahead: Aim to arrive at the terminal at least 15 minutes early or more during peak commute hours.
Navigation Note: Google Maps and Apple Maps won’t route you via ferry by default you’ll need to disable “avoid ferries” and “avoid tolls” in your settings to include them. Even then, always double-check the official [Washington State Ferries website] or the Ferry Friend app for accurate schedules and real-time updates.
With a bit of prep, your ferry ride will be the highlight of your trip, not a hassle. We’re excited to host you on Vashon safe travels, and see you soon! If you have questions, drop us a line.
